Maya ran screaming around the room, covering her head, hearing the pitter-patter of tiny feet following close behind her. She ducked into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind her, crawling into the shower, cowering as far from the door as she could get. She could hear them, trying to reach the doorknob, watching in terror as the doorknob slowly turned….
Sylar opened the apartment door, frowning. He turned to look at Mohinder behind him. “I think they’re at it again.” He sighed, walking to the bathroom, stopping when he saw the six little Mohinder babies there. He really couldn’t even call them babies; they were fully grown miniature copies of Mohinder, five inches tall.
Two Mohinderlings were standing in front of the bathroom door, banging on it. One had climbed up on top of another’s shoulders, trying to reach the doorknob. The other two were trying to squeeze under the bathroom door. Frowning, Sylar stood there, tapping his foot.
“How many times have we told you not to terrorize Maya?!” He thundered at them, kneeling down and sweeping them up into his hands. They squealed and started pouting at him but he ignored them, handing them to Mohinder. “Here, put them in their room while I save Maya.” Mohinder nodded, carrying the six back to their room. He knocked on the door. “Maya, it’s me…” He slowly opened the door…
…To be hit with the towel bar. He winced, looking at Maya.
“I’m never babysitting for you again!” She screamed, running out the door, trying to stop the black ooze from falling from her eyes. Sylar sighed, yelling towards Mohinder.
“We’re going to have to get another babysitter again. Do you think Peter would help…?”

Date: 2008-09-28 03:43 am (UTC)I think I know someone that has that Asus. It's nice, but there's next to no HD space. I want a new ipod too, I've only got a 2GB nano and I can barely put anything on it. *sigh* And the book signing sounds like a blast! I got to go to one last summer for one of my fav authors and it was so much fun! But I lucked out and my aunt lived in near where it was being held so I stayed with her. That would be fun to go too.

Date: 2008-09-28 05:27 am (UTC)And yeah, that's the one downside to the UMPCs - some of them I've found have a pretty good-sized drive, but others have really dinky drives and no way to upgrade them, which stinks.
I'm really looking forward to the book-signing. I do live in Washington state, but Seattle's a good hour by car and 3 or 4 hours by bus (which is how I'll be going). It'll make for a nice little mini-vacation. Plus, I'll finally get to meet one of my favorite actresses! :D
And I soooooo need a new iPod - I've got a 4gig mini and it's served me very well, but my music collection is so huge, now, that I always wind up having to delete stuff from my iPod that I don't listen to that much. I got an 8gb Creative Zen player and gave that a test-drive and it wasn't half bad, but I figure if I pay just a little more, I can have like four or five times the containment space.

Date: 2008-09-28 06:23 am (UTC)Yeah, I would go nuts with that small of a comp, you couldn't do much with it. I love my notebook, tho it's a bit bigger then the UMPC's, it's got much more space.
Sounds like fun. The book signing I went to was 2.5-3 hrs by car so...it was nice having somewhere to stay for the night. I hope you get to go, that would be great.
My son got a generic mp3 player and I had to go out and get him an apple, just because they work better and are easier to use. I got him a shuffle, he doesn't need much for music. If I get another one, I want one of the big ones, the 80 or 160GB ones. Tho the new nano's are pretty cool now that they can play vids.

Date: 2008-09-28 06:33 am (UTC)See, I've been using PCs ever since I started working with computers and I've been considering a Mac, but everything seems completely backwards to me, on those things.
The new Nanos are pretty, but I've heard some of 'em have actually caught fire because of some wiring problem on the board - somebody had theirs plugged in and charging and it started sparking, caught fire and was smoking and the end of it popped off and ashes and more smoke came out, even after the person unplugged it. I've got carpet, so I'm not keen on getting one of those if there's a possibility it'll blow up. lol I've been eyeing the new 120gb ones - they're a little less expensive but the size is good.

Date: 2008-09-28 06:47 am (UTC)Mac's are nice, but I myself wouldn't get one only because it's hard to find software that's compatable with them sometimes.
Yikes! I hadn't heard that! But I guess that's anything tho, if there's a defect, it'll do that. It doesn't *have* to be an Apple. I've had mine for a few years now and haven't ever had any probs with it. I also think they're a bit sturdier then most others too. I have a friend that has a generic one and it's all glitched up and doesn't want to play right. lol I guess that can happen to anything tho too.
