Okay, usually I don’t do this but I just have to.  I don’t like conflict and I try and avoid it when I can but I just can’t sit back anymore.

There may be spoilery info under the cut, be warned now!

 

 

There are people out in the fandom that are getting a bit out of hand with the hate lately.  I love this fandom and don’t want to see it break apart, but this needs to chill some.  I understand not everyone likes how the show’s been going and that’s fine, to each their own.  I also know that not everyone is happy that their OTP/fav shipping pair/whatever are more or less being torn apart.  Again, to each their own and if that’s how you feel, fine and dandy.

 

But!  I’m really starting to have a problem with the way peeps are letting out their displeasure.  Sure, be unhappy that a certain character was sort of ret-conned.  I wasn’t too happy either, but don’t start pissing and moaning about it and saying you’re not going to have anything to do with the show anymore JUST BECAUSE IT’S HAPPENING!  Don’t like the way a story arc is going and want to bitch about it?  Fine, but don’t say that “OMG How could they do this to X and Y?  It makes no fucking sense” and “Fandom writers are so much better then the real writers!”  I’m sorry, but if you were, why aren’t you in Hollywood writing for the show then?

 

And also?  Don’t go hating on a ship-pair.  You may not like them, most peeps may not like them, but that doesn’t mean that your word is law.  There’s a lot of pairs I don’t like, but I would never tell someone that their pairing is stupid and OMG, MINE IS BETTER AND SHOULD BE CANON.  Guess what?  It’s not going to happen, no matter how much you wish it would.  My OTP became incest.  Was I happy?  No, not at first, but it grew on me because I gave it a fucking chance!  Just because you don’t like a certain pairing (canon or not) don’t go trashing it just because its not yours because it probably is someone else’s.

 

And as far as still pictures from coming episodes, please, put them in context.  They’re a single shot of a single scene in a single epi.  You can’t extrapolate what’s going on by just a single picture.  There may be tons going on before and after that would make your ranting/being upset moot.  It may very well likely not be what you think it is.  I’m not saying it isn’t, I’m just saying that we DON’T KNOW!  And I for one don’t want to know.  I’m tired of all the spoiler pics being posted.  I don’t want to be spoiled and I know peeps will say “Then don’t look.” But for me it’s not that easy.  I am very curious and even though I don’t want to know, it’s hard for me NOT to look.  And then reading some of the comments is killing the fun of the show for me.

 

I happen to like this season.  Granted, it’s not perfect, but I enjoy it a hell of a lot better then S2.  I know not everyone agrees but do I tell them that they don’t know anything and that they’re stupid?  No, that’s their opinion and they’re welcome to it.  Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.  (I’m NOT calling anyone an asshole, fwiw).  I’m not going to bash you just because you think differently then I do, and I think we’re losing that objectivity. 

 

I guess I’m done ranting and if anyone that reads this (not that I expect anyone to read it, I’m just getting this off my chest) and doesn’t agree?  GOOD!!!  I wouldn’t want you to agree with me (unless, of course, you do  *grin*) and if you want to bash me for this, then fine.  That’s your opinion and I won’t hate you for it.  I just wish peeps would not take this so seriously.  It’s a fucking show, meant to entertain, that’s all.  Yes, it might suck right now, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t get better, there’s over half the season left to go yet.  And you know, not every show has had a stellar season, every season.  There are many shows that have tanked for a season but managed to turn themselves around.  How about giving this show that chance?

I'm glad you're enjoying the show, but I feel like the whole "Everyone should chill and be happy with whatever they give us" is on exactly the same level as "Noone should watch heroes ever anymore because it sucks so hard".

Everyone should feel however they like about the show and react in whatever way they choose to in their journals because it's their journals and their lives.

Noone is a better or worse person based upon their reaction to fictional characters in a television show. The only thing that really matters in a good/bad way is the social interaction with other people - and everyone's been pretty reasonable in that area. Ranting yeah, but flamewars no. :-)

I'm not disagreeing, and I like what you say. It just seems that some of the dislike for the show and some of the newish pairings are starting to bleed into other things. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry.

I love seeing other peoples opinions of the show, to get another perspective on it. It just bothers me that some of it denigrates into pairing bashing. I don't like a lot of pairings, but I won't say that someone is wrong for liking that certain pairing. I'll just say that I don't like the pairing.

It really is annoying, and some of it is pissing me off, but I love the show too much to give up on it yet. And some shows have had a crappy season and turned it all around the next, so I'm hoping that happens here.

I'll go on a limb and say it's my journal and I'll bitch if I want too ;)

That being said, I respect you and this post and understand why you wrote it.

I would like to have a outlook like yours but sadly, I feel stretched to my limits with this show.

Not because such and such pairing killed my OTP more because such and such writer decided to rewrite a character for a totally OOC story arc.

Anyway, I don't want to rant here. This is your place for that :D

It was more a combination of different things being said, mostly in the comms. And I have respect for you for ranting all you want, it's your journal, do what you want, more power to you! :D

And I totally understand, there's things being done in the show I'm really not happy with, I just wish that some peeps would just remember it's a show. It's going to suck sometimes, a lot sometimes. lol

And yes!! Agreed! I really hate that all that stuff was ret-conned and that that character was turned OCC (tho I do like some of what they're doing with that character's storyline). I'm just saying that things might change and to just give it a chance. I live in the land of Denial and am happy there. lol

I'm glad to see your side of things, I love getting lots of different sides, it makes me happy that peeps are thinking things thru and not just reacting.

i still love the show......i don't know what everone is complaning about.. just because sylar is not evil .....doesn't mean the show is not good.

i wish people would stop complaing about this already.....it's getting annoying...and i'm glad you posted this.......i agree what your saying.

Agreed. It's still a good show, tho it needs a bit of tweaking, but I, myself, don't think it's as bad as some others do.

Thank you. I don't mind them complaining, but please just complain with reason, not just rant for rantings sake. And thanks for your opinion, it's nice to see that I'm not the only one thinking this too.
